Cord Blood Bank Blog
Hi!
My name is Jeff, and about a year ago my wife was pregnant with our first child, when we heard about cord blood, cord blood bank and its uses. Sometime after that I began a small research about cord blood banks. After spending time researching on the internet, we realized that cord blood storage in a cord blood bank would have long term benefits not only for this unborn child but for all children we may choose to have or any members of the family who may need to use the cord blood stored in the cord blood bank.
Today we have a cute healthy daughter at the age of 4 months. After all the information gathering, we have decided to store the cord blood of our child at a cord blood bank. In this web page I want to share with you some information I found during my research that may help you to decide if you want to register at a cord blood bank too.
What is cord blood?
Blood that is present in the umbilical cord and placenta at the time of birth is called cord blood. This blood is stored for future use in the treatment of blood and immune system disorders that are of genetic origin.

If you have reached this section, I’ll tell you that we have chosen to store the cord blood at a private cord blood bank. The only other option for us was to donate it to a public bank, but we think storing it in a private cord blood bank, is worth the money.
I have written more about cord blood and cord blood bank in the inner pages.
